Some key takeaways from the discussion: - Implementation is key: EMD, RED III, CRM,NZIA... - Avoiding an “Energy Omnibus” . Industry and investors need regulatory certainty and stability. - To accelerate renewables, we must make progress on grids, interconnections, storage, and flexibility. - Europe must not repeat past mistakes: we need to support and diversify our clean tech manufacturing Reflections I shared during my intervention: - Europe must go in the opposite direction of what Trump proposes. If he attacks renewables, we must double down on them. It’s simple: he wants to sell us more gas. - We need more electrification, transforming fossil demand in key sectors such as industry, housing, and mobility. This new demand must be met with renewables, not imported fossil fuels. - We must also pay attention to a new and unexpected neighbour: the rapid growth of data centres and AI is already causing higher prices in electricity and competition for grid connections in many places, from the U.S. to Ireland.
